Industrial heat pumps are defined as active heat-recovery equipment that increases the temperature of a waste-heat stream to a higher and more useful temperature. The heat can then be used to replace purchased energy and therefore reduce energy costs.  In other words, the technology is used to provide heat and increase industrial efficiency.
